Hiring a Car at Charles de Gaulle Airport
Charles de Gaulle airport car hire puts you in control of your schedule from the moment you touch down. CDG is located 23 kilometres north-east of Paris, and while the RER B train connects the airport to the city in 35 minutes, a rental car is the better choice if you plan to travel beyond Paris, carry heavy luggage, or travel with a family.

CDG has three main terminal areas. Terminal 1 handles Star Alliance carriers; Terminal 2 is divided into halls 2A through 2G and serves Air France, SkyTeam, and various European carriers; Terminal 3 is the low-cost hub. Our counters are present in each zone. If you are unsure where to go, follow the “Car Rental” signs from baggage reclaim — they lead to a centralised rental village beneath Terminal 2.
Driving from CDG into Paris
- Take the A1 motorway southbound toward Paris (approx. 30–45 min in normal traffic)
- The A3 ring road connects CDG to eastern Paris suburbs
- Avoid rush hours: 07:30–09:30 and 17:00–19:30 add significant time
- Toll-free route available via N2 and Porte de la Chapelle
CDG is also an ideal starting point for road trips heading north or east. Reims and the Champagne vineyards are just 130 kilometres away on the A4. Belgium and the Netherlands are under three hours. Vehicle return at CDG is straightforward. Drive to the designated drop-off area on level P1 of the rental village, hand over the keys, and receive your final invoice by email within 30 minutes. Allow 20 minutes before your check-in deadline for a smooth return experience.
